well done for a fantastic conference! and specifically taking quick action on utilising and making changes to the website. i'm goinjg to add a picture and looking forward to posting a little personal account of the conference and possibly some other info about the 'polyphonic vioces' concept and how it could be embraced by our own detached community.
have a good week and be in touch

Hi, Roy,
How would you like me to tell the stories? They are not offensive - but should be thought provoking......and should raise a smile.
Do you just want me to blog them - is that easiest?

Hi, Roy,
Many thanks for the welcome note. Still exploring your website - comments in due course, no doubt!
I have a project in mind, which would be excellent for a youth project - but it all depends on whether I can find partners to help get if off the ground.
Having worked with "difficult" teenagers over a period of years, I recognise the challenges and the opportunity.
I have written a couple of articles - fairly humourously and lightheartedly I hope!)which highlight one or two of the difficulties that we encountered.
I could perhaps post them for discussion.....
Kind regards,
Linda

HI Roy, I have recently done a project on diversity on a mobile and detached project I am team leader with in Hartlepool. Do you have any practice ideas you can share??? I am always looking for new ideas. I could post out our project plan and a bag we made to share with your project if you like.

Hi Roy,
Is there a place here where people can post their dusty youth work dissertations to maybe help other students, or just bedtime reading for others?
Regards,
Keith

Flavasum project

Theatre is a highly effective way of reaching and engaging marginalised young people. It can stimulate dialogue and discussion which can help them, and those working with them, develop positive strategies and actions. For the Flavasum Trust this, in particular, means moving them away from carrying knives and using weapons to solve disputes.

London Detached Forum - 2nd December 09

16th September saw the first meeting of the reformed London Detached Forum. The meeting was held at Camden Detached Project, 218 Eversholt Street, NW1 1BD (close to Euston, Kings Cross or Mornington Crescent Stations)

What became clear is that Detached work is viewed very differently across the Borough’s, but tha… Continue
